I want to say, it takes a village. Sometimes I find lyrics can't stand alone without the music. And I did here. Ultimately, though, both together (and with that wonderful piano, his bare feet, the gentle vocalisation, the world outside) give this great power. Thanks for sending.
This IS indeed a challenge and a different perspective for me. You see, I actually think it’s brilliant to run away when the wolves are calling my name. I suppose it all depends on how you hear the wolves: is it the wild part of you needing to be wild? Am I a little too focused on my need for the wild and not paying enough attention to you?
Great music. Great lyrics.
You’ve once again opened a new path for many of us, Phyllis.
Love how you're playing with the meaning instead of simply being "put off" by the words that provide a different perspective. I'm wrestling too—a poem in progress about sometimes needing to run away from the light . . .
This jumped out for me:
“It's giving thanks when its going well. And keeping hope when it goes to hell”
Yes, those lines leap!
Love Cloud Cult. Lyrics are beautiful and a very unique way of recording and processing the vocal. Thanks
This one is so very gentle and poignant . . .
Thanks again Phyllis. This really speaks to me.
Sometimes I feel like that old piano. The universe can still play me! How about you?
Yeah, it's the relaxing into and allowing what wants to be played-that is the task of life.

I loved his bare feet, too—kind of like those of the accordion player in a video a while back!
“You know you can't run away
Though the wolves are calling your name”

Great gratitude for this, for you.

When you’re feeling ready to share your poem, I would love to hear it. Running from the light. Yup, compelling for sure.
It was in Sunday’s “Staying Power” riff. Perhaps you saw it?
