AS BEAUTIFUL AS IT HURTS
Craig Minowa
We're tumbling through the universe
Screaming for all we're worth
Is it a blessing or is it a curse
That it's as beautiful as it hurts
Try to make the most of my life
Though I make mistakes all the time
Forgive my foolish pride
But please know I tried
I need to think it's going to be alright
I need to think it's going to be alright
Knowing the cycle of things don't make it easier
I really tried to make things better this time around
They say easy come, but it ain't easy to let go
It's the spin on the stories we tell
It's making friends with our wounded selves
It's giving thanks when its going well
And keeping hope when it goes to hell
So where you gonna go today
Now that all your plans have changed
You know you can't run away
Though the wolves are calling your name
I need to think it's gonna be okay
I need to think it's gonna be okay
We're tumbling through the universe
Screaming for all we're worth
Is it a blessing or is it a curse
That it's as beautiful as it hurts

“You know you can't run away
Though the wolves are calling your name”
This IS indeed a challenge and a different perspective for me. You see, I actually think it’s brilliant to run away when the wolves are calling my name. I suppose it all depends on how you hear the wolves: is it the wild part of you needing to be wild? Am I a little too focused on my need for the wild and not paying enough attention to you?
Great music. Great lyrics.
You’ve once again opened a new path for many of us, Phyllis.
Great gratitude for this, for you.
Kate
I want to say, it takes a village. Sometimes I find lyrics can't stand alone without the music. And I did here. Ultimately, though, both together (and with that wonderful piano, his bare feet, the gentle vocalisation, the world outside) give this great power. Thanks for sending.
