Yesterday I came across a Pema Chodron quote that said no matter how much pain and chaos we see in the world, we always have the option to see that we are NEEDED. Needed to show up with caring, healing, compassion, and simple presence.
May our words continue to connect us in the spirit of love and not hate! May they mend our brokenness and uplift our spirits! Thanks Phyllis for doing your part!
I worry sometimes that I've said something that inadvertently hurt someone else....all I can do is keep trying to be kind, be better than I was yesterday. It isn't always easy to do at all times to all people in our current climate. I need to remember to send blessings to people who are harsh or nasty or who say/do things that are very clearly unkind....
Perhaps we don't need to "try to be better." Is that one of your ball and chains (from another of your comments)? Maybe just be as much YOU as you can be, and that's enough?
Lovely. And I would expand it to be not just wounds, but any absence of void that can be filled with whatever God can bring to them through you. And it reinforces a core thought that's been with me for nearly 30 years, that every individual is essential to Creation because each is a unique channel through which the divine can flow into the world. And sometimes that flow is there for just one other.
I often wonder how people can find words that pierce my heart to embolden me to be wild to love! Awe!
❤️
Perhaps if we keep our hearts open, the right words are everywhere?
“Anytime you try
to be a loving person,
you are doing your part
to save the world.”

A perfect answer to that question. Thank you!
Remember this, friend, when you doubt.

Yes, yes, yes. Pema Chodron has a way of naming things that LANDS.
So true. And often there's just a recognition that someone out there is a bit like us. We feel connected in ways that transcend time and place.
Yes. There is no outside.

I'm happy to be your companion in the work, Myrtle.

Beautiful reminder...

I don't know if people are ready for that!!! LOL!
I'M READY!

Lovely translation or elaboration in another spiritual vernacular . . . Thank you.
