Dear Phyllis: I haven't thanked you for all your daily inspirational poems and thoughts that start my day. Today's was very special but so many of them are and I have been neglectful in thanking you. I save them in a file so I can go back to them. God bless you!
I’ll be taking this happy tune and equally happy video of all these delightfully happy people into day. No doubt I will have a happy day. How could I not? Thanks for sharing! Keep dancing!
Not sure what to make of the lyrics with the dance -- when you're down down down? Meaning, when we're depressed, or homeless, or "old." Or any/all of the above? Or am I making too much of this, looking for context? Yes, of course, it's about being in our bodies and joyful, the power of dance and of ourselves to transform and be transformed. And that is wonderful, and the video is wonderful. May I suggest another take on dancing when old -- Betti Franceschi's photographs on "ageless dancers." Full disclosure, my sister is among them. https://www.bettifranceschi.com/agelessdancers.htm
To me, the "down down down" is capable of many meanings at once—like all good poetry!.One meaning, for me, is being "down" (or "okay with") one's life inwardly, regardless of external circumstances. Anyway, thank you for the link to the photographs, which I intend to experience at length. So glad to hear that your sister is among them!
Fabulous! This will change my day! I often dance just around the house and every chance I get, celebrating the little things, moving to music because I can't stand still when there is music playing, and I plan to continue that practice as long as my body can keep up. Thanks so much for sharing this, Phyllis!
I read this right after being badly triggered by reading Yahoo news about what’s going on in the Supreme Court right now….Today’s Raft was just what I needed to bring me back to joy….yes, by all means….keep dancing 💃
