Just read this to myself as I tried to soothe my aged mother who was thrashing in her bed in misery, trying to catch her breath. It is hard to soothe and stay calm.

I'm sorry for your mother's suffering, and for yours. YOU ARE THE CALM, EVEN WHEN IT'S HARD. May you and she have what you need.

Words, beauty, connection.

I sent Beannacht to my daughter-in-law last week on the 5th anniversary of her mother's death. It is a beautiful blessing. I always enjoy seeing the webs of connection, poetry often providing the warp and weft of a great tapestry.

Poetry is such an under-apperciated gift. We need to read it aloud to one another more!

Beautiful poem by John O'Donohue. Exquisitely beautiful poem by Phyllis Cole-Dai. Especially love the ending. Thank you for sharing. Both are a blessing.
