As cliche and silly as it sounds, my ultimate work on this earth is to become a better person. The first half of my life was spent in worldly endeavors which is pretty standard for us humans. In the second half I have paid more attention to understanding who I am and what I need to change. This leads to becoming closer to a higher source. A big part of this is being creative with music and art. May we all be who we are meant to be!
Love this. I had a discussion last night with a friend, older than me, and I was saying how it's hard to do when the world around you doesn't seem to be doing the same. It's a work in progress for me, for sure. Also, it sounds like you've read Richard Rohr's book "Falling Upwards." If not, you might like it.
This a such a freeing statement. I work for money, and it's not fulfilling in the least. I've started a side job that is doing what I love (instructional design) and it's also going to make me some money. What I do to feed my soul is read. I've added poetry back into the mix and that's moved me to write my own poems. If I can keep this up, I should be able to achieve some kind of "balance" and stay true to myself in the process. I am grateful for all of those dear ones who are joining me and supporting me in those efforts!

We have to be strong in our own skin.
Not cliche or silly at all, Frank. Bless you.

We’re all working on “balance.” Like tightrope walkers on the rope of life. But THERE IS A NET. Glad to be part of yours, as you are part of mine.
As a matter of fact I did read it a number of years ago. Great book from an amazing man. Thanks, Karen.
I wish to be a good listener in a world where everyone is talking and having opinions about most everything.
To be honest, I find it difficult to be a good listener to yacked opinions.
