What a pleasant start to my Monday. This Frank Turner song and message could not have been more timely sent. And the bonus (!!) was brilliant and felt spookily autobiographical:
"And midlife walks you into that wisdom
that this is what transformation looks like --
the mess of it, the tapping at the walls of your life,
the yearning and writhing and pushing,
until one day, one day
you emerge from the wreck
embracing both the immense dawn
and the dusk of the body,
glistening, beautiful
just as you are."
It is a shame that we must wait until midlife to gain that wisdom, but there it is. It is only now in my sixth decade that I've learned to love and accept myself and embrace the life I've been given with gratitude and awe. So much time spent "waiting". No more. I am loving my life, in all its glorious mess and tumult. Phyllis, thank you for this poem and this post and for curating the Raft so thoughtfully. It is a positive start to every day. So grateful for this.
😊 I posted this over at KindSpring this morning before seeing today’s Raft ….kindness synchronicity:)))

Oh, Jenny, no more waiting! Let's love this life, even this "mess and tumult!" What a privilege to have it! To be alive! Big hugs!
Big hugs to you too. Hope you have an amazing day.
Great start to the day! I have a dear friend who is a mad fan of Frank's - I need to listen to more of his music and message.
I've just discovered him too!
