Crying with gratitude as I go to sleep. I will pass this on to my Arabic family. My sister's youngest son David is married to Zeina and her family is Arabic. Two days ago they birthed a beautiful baby boy. The two families love each other and are with each other for this amazing event in southern California They will love receiving this. To see and hear this compassionate and beautiful poet gives hope to the world. And it truly does require us to work to keep this hope alive. Blessings to you
Yes, I am crying too...I just read Adrienne's comment. This is waiting just below the surface, just below our skin if we can only have the grace to allow it to rise to being. Naomi is one of my favorites...what a remarkable and wonderful poet and human she is. Thank you for sharing this. Airports are the setting for many such stories...who would have thunk it! Beginning my day with this and the sweetness of dates in my mind...
Years ago I heard Naomi read this at a teacher's conference. It brought tears then and now, tears that water the deep truth that we are communion to each other. 💕

I’m so glad for your joy and your hope, Adrienne! May this prose poem buoy all of you! Bless you all, and especially that newborn!
Thank you all drawn into that experience and let me too take part.
Oh, you are part of the Bigness, Klaus! Have a cookie!

“We are communion.” Love that.
Another beautiful reminder that we are all one! Thanks Phyllis ♥️
You’re such a gratitude-spreader!
It's the world I want to live in, too. Wonderful to hear the poet read her own words, her own story. Darned if I didn't tear up again....
I tear up every time!
What a great story! I’ve always loved her poems.
She’s a truth-teller.
