“Imagine a country whose citizens—maybe even its leaders—are brave, calm, and open towards each other; a country whose people realize that all human beings belong together as one family and must act accordingly.” ~ BR. DAVID STEINDL-RAST
Thanks Phyllis...so helpful. This will be helpful for a while to come as the election results most likely will unfold as things do...in its own time. A good time to be in a circle, where no one needs to take the lead for too long.
I'm grateful for both of these life rafts this morning, ans will Ackerman will be the soundtrack to my day. I'm leaning into this line from Krista Tippet: "hope is a choice that becomes a practice that becomes spiritual muscle memory. It's a renewable resource for moving through life as it is, not as we wish it to be." Yet I see that HOPE in the promise of who we are as a country-- I see how that hope has awakened millions of us to do the hard work of creating what "we wish it to be."
Holding the vigil in this community gives me hope! 🕊
Stay strong, people. Keep things in perspective. Let's all just do our daily living. And pray, meditate, wish, focus on peace. I'm now listening to the YouTube playlist of Will Ackerman's music. Perfect for today.
Once again, you nailed it with the perfect poem which captures the held breath of our nervous nation. Also, William Ackerman is an old favorite from my college days, and my Alexa frequently cues him up for all day listening and meditation sessions. Lovely. Thank you, Phyllis.

Let us pray 🙏
Yes, imagine. And vote. And pray, each of us as we do.

My privilege, Diane. Thank you for receiving the poem with the heart of you.

Multiple viewing of that cold open! 😍😁
OMG Yes!!
Alison Luterman’s poem from Rattle, yes! She speaks for many of us right now. (As we wait…)
She really put words to a collective reality, didn't she?!
