Sometimes letting something go seems to be the hardest thing. And worry was so much more a thing for me before my kids were grown and before I myself had grown to know that I am not in control of most things I ever worried about. Mary Oliver says it so well. ❤️

Thank you Phyllis and Mary Oliver! Such a great poem for the coming week. Let us drop our fearfulness and worry, do what we can and fill our hearts with praise for all that is and will be good. ❤️

Choosing a different story, choosing to put down the worry stories is so valuable for all of us as we swim upstream through this election season. Thanks Phyllis and Mary!

Grateful that I'm learning to lay my worries down on paper and leave them there. Thanks for the reminder!😊

I can't seem to attach a photo to this post so I will link to one of my favorite paintings "The Song of the Lark" by Jules Breton which I have always coupled in my head with this poem. I have a postcard of this painting which reminds me to let go of worries and start the day singing! https://www.artic.edu/artworks/94841/the-song-of-the-lark

Thank you Phyllis!

Thank you for this beautiful reminder of the futility, though human, of worrying 😟

You’re so welcome! Worrying (though a natural impulse) wastes energy that we could put toward other things . . . We can practice transmuting it!
