I've read some of Silverstein's works before, this is the tamest one of his I have ever read. Most of his writings are very amusing and humorous., and a bit R rated

He certainly demonstrates a range!

That he does. Oft times he gets his point across in an amusing way.

THE EDGE Keep Off ! The rocks dropping into air. The innocence of childhood - girls! on the edge. The older we get the warnings more ingrained, louder, so only a whisper awakens. So deep. Thanks, Bruce.

PS: I give this book to parents before their child is born, suggesting they read it aloud to the baby in the womb, introducing them early to the culture of words--the sounds, the rhymes, rhythm, the music. The gift to the adult, the genius, wisdom and joy of the author.
