I remember when my daughter started preschool the director said "They get messy." I was able to buy kid's clothing for her from a great consignment store and she got as messy as she pleased. It started me down the path of "messy" and I never looked back.
I am often messy! I was embarrassed by that part of my personality for a while--now I seek to embrace my messy, side that colors outside the line, raises questions, laughs loud, and dances to a tune others don't hear. And, it's fun!
I love Grant Snider and his comics. (and I'm naturally messy ;-) I subscrib
ed to his weekly newsletter (on Substack) I aspire to be able to do my own poetry comics. I'm Learning to draw -- I am at the sitck figure stage, and having fun with it. Thanks for sharing his work, Phyllis.
I recently became a subscriber to his blog & love it!
Variety is the spice of life….getting messy adds some spice to life 😉
So glad you're now following him! He does wonderful work!
I so agree 👍😊
Years ago while walking on a track with lanes I just switched lanes, immediately by walking buddy commanded, get back in lane. I didn't, laughing.
As a child I colored inside the lines. Sigh!
Such a life now of going as my true spot gently nudges me
to seek adventure.
Your anecdote made me smile. I have both "characters" in me!
Thanks for the reminder!
To play with a phrase by the late great John Lewis, "Make good mess!"
That comic/poem describes me “to a T”! I have to give myself permission to “be messy”.
Shall I send you a blank permission slip?! Fill it out anytime you need it?! 😝
It wouldn’t hurt. Thank you. I see a Poetry Comic, but someone else would have to do the drawing.
Life is messy - may as well give in!
Indeed—the mess is part of the FLOW!

Thank you for sharing the comics, Phyllis! I appreciate it.
You've got some subscribers coming your way . . . 😊 And some folks trying their own comics, thanks to you! Good luck with the book!
