Oh, how I love this, especially now being of the age when I am asked to draw a clock during my annual wellness visit. May we all find and hold onto the simple yet magnificent beauties of life!
Stunning. I was with my husband when they asked the lame questions. Heck, I couldn't count backwards by 7s when I was young! This is the stuff of conversation with anyone and everyone who's been alive for a long while. I'd also like to hear the stories that they are able to remember.
I've had three weeks in a row with multiple doctor's appointments with my mom, 83, and dad, 88. I just read this through tears-- grateful tears that I can love them in this small thing of taking them to appts. And tears recognizing the threshold we are coming to at some point soon. Such beauty. Thank you!
Oh, dear heart. Am right there doing that, with you—my own mother, crossing invisible thresholds that she's unaware of. There is beauty in presence. But the beauty is both struggle and letting the struggle be. Blessings on you and your parents.
Beautiful! I worked caring for seniors for most of my working life and this certainly resonates with me. In the end, what's really important. So enjoyed this writing, bravo. xo
I think I will “just sit” with this one for a bit❣️❣️
"Sitting with you"
So beautiful it drove me to tears 🙏
Definite save & share 👌🏻
Bless your tears
Oh my, made me smile and tear up at the same time. When you hear/read real truth it stops you in your tracks
That's what I call something "hitting your true spot"
Love this! ❤️
This is one bee-u-tee-ful poem! My visits to doctors will NEVER be the same! Grateful to the three of you.
Well, personally, I hope you have VERY FEW "visits to doctors."
This poem could not speak more powerfully for the many of us given the chance to grow old. Thank you!
"Given the chance to grow old"—love that!

Draw a face on those clocks! (Or something quirky!)
So grateful for this inspiring poem, Phyllis.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I, too, and "just sitting" with this one...(Thk you, too, Nancy S.)
You're very welcome, Barbara. "Just sitting" with you, too!
Part of the aging process is a calendar “full” of doctors’ visits.

I’m blessed to have personable, caring, professional healthcare providers.
May you always have the care you need.

"The beauty is both struggle and letting the struggle be..." Yes! And blessings on you and your mother. ❤️
Received with deep bows of gratitude.
I particularly like “Set down your hurry
Bring me a slice of calm
with some tea”
Sounds like the perfect preventative care plan. ❤️
Bam. Ya got me.
I hope it was a gentle "bam." 🤪
