In many ways, Winter suits my nature, even though I am a Summer baby, lol. I love nesting with a good book, nice cup of tea, warm lap blanket , on a cold Winter’s day. I also like the quiet the early darkness invites & sleep better in cold weather…. I “hermit” well during the Winter ❄️

Oh my gosh. I'm floored by this. I never dread winter. I live in Northern Mn. and winter activities are a big thing up here. I love the cold; it wakes me up. Winter chores mean bundling up, shoveling the walkways, hauling a wheelbarrow of wood to the porch, feeding the chickens, picking up the bird feeder for the hundredth time, filling it up and rehanging it for the squirrels to knock down again. And then, going inside our warm little cabin for coffee and toast. Being retired, this is all I need out of life right now.

Thanks for this snapshot of your precious winter days, Deedee!

I delight in the calm of a quiet winter day - especially if there is a good covering of snow. This furious and not-very-musical interpretation is about a wild and probably lethal storm. It shows ff the technical skills of the musicians, but not much else. There is no sense of the time of rest, and restoration, that winter brings, the time that requires of us to remain 'inside' - not only for our protection, but for our coming growth.

Thank you for your reflection on this music and on winter, Miki! I'm wondering if you know of a piece of music that suggests the "time of rest and restoration that winter brings." It would be lovely to hear your suggestion!
