I take delight in and find joy in nature, especially on my morning walks with my dogs. This time of year, seeing the hardwoods ignite the pine forests with color or watching a fog bank nestle on the river.

Catherine, I find joy in nature too on my daily morning walks by the woods in our neighborhood. I pay attention to the changing seasons and keep an eye out for deer, wild turkeys, and other critters. I always bring a bag to pick up litter. It gives me joy to keep our woods litter-free. Often elderly neighbors, who I didn't realize were watching me, will call out, "Thank you!"

Yesterday my husband and I arrived in Sweden to visit our daughter and her family. My daughter and I drove to our grandson's daycare. When we walked in the door, he saw us and squealed with delight. My daughter squatted down, and he ran pell-mell into her arms for a big hug. Heart-melting moment of pure joy that I got to witness and cherish.

“Savoring even the smallest moments of happiness and joy can mightily boost your well-being. What’s such a moment that you’ve experienced lately?”…….

Every time two of our feral cat friends come to visit & let us pet them….sitting in the sunshine with them , sometimes for an extended period time…pure bliss for my husband & I. They respond to love & love one another during these sessions. Watching them rub faces delights us 🐈‍⬛ ❤️🐈‍⬛

Grateful for these frequent small moments of happiness & joy 🙏

I frequently get called Pollyanna by my family, but I prefer to see the good things in this world and try to experience joy in even the most mundane of days. Life is so good if you can just open your eyes to it! Thank you for the reminder - again and again - dear Phyllis!

catching hope yesterday…

a host of angles cheered me on

the nurse had called my name

cancer had given me

the gift of impermanence

I stood there with a hidden smile

before I left them all

comrades in the waiting room

for just one moment’s time

wearing scarves and hats and obvious wigs

the day felt different though

for each there said some words

about how it has been

to dance with cancer’s reel

connection in the waiting room

my bold bald head standing out

a badge I proudly wore that day

for being brave and stepping

just like the rest

into the dance’s with cancer dance

I savored the moment’s lingering

then slowly moved on my way

ushered to a window seat

to get the treatment for the day
