Thank you, Phyllis, for sharing your poem and process prompted by the wonderful Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer and inspired by Jim Tipton's poem. What a marvelous poem that tumbled out of you!
‘I want’ feels like an invocation of desire, and ‘to’ an invitation to action. That can propel the writer into that inner place where we hoard or cage our deepest desires.
And the ‘to’ also makes a key bridge that directs the focus outside of our little selves. Imagine using ‘I want’ alone—-that can bring up ‘needs’ rather than desires. It can turn us toward lack, loss, a sense of not enough.
If we follow our truest and deepest desires ‘to’ where they lead, which this poem does, we wind up feeling more energy, more wonder, more connection.
I'll spend some time playing with this prompt! I'm grateful to the friend who gifted me with Poetry of Presence, thus introducing me to both you and Rosemerry. The gift that keeps on giving! 😊💕

Glad you liked it, Jan! Now . . . what might tumble out of you?
For me how you place the words on the page is playful!
Go girl, keep playing laughing too!
I'm trying! 🤪 And yes, playing with arrangement of words is fun

I will definitely use this basic tool more often.
