What a beautiful way to begin this Sunday morning...by listening to your meaningful sharing on the "singing stick" and reed. I will be waiting for my reed when I order your book. Can't wait!! Your healing voice only added to your presentation. Peace...

Yes, yes, yes, sign the reed!

You speak to my true spot. I yearn to make music to grow life.

And so I shall, Lorraine. And so you shall. Transmute the yearning into learning.

Wow, thank you Phyllis for what I call a beautiful "blesson" (blessing & lesson)!

I like the idea of sending the reed to to buyers and wonder if you might consider adding a link to this riff; I think it would add more meaning to the gift. Again, what a blesson! And happy to hear that you are feeling better!😊

"Blesson"—nice word! Thank you! And that's an interesting idea—linking to the riff. At the very least, I'll include a note explaining the reed's significance. Grateful for that nudge!

I agree with Myrtle about sending the link somehow with the reed. The reed will be such a treasured complement to the book, so unique and thoughtful.

So great to hear your voice and know that you are healing. There is something about music both in terms of finding our voice and how its cadence gives us life. Breath is needed for both. I played bassoon in high school (a long time ago now). I will need now to reflect on what it means to work with a "double" reed. Can't wait to get your book, please let us know when we can order it. I think the idea of sending out reeds is clever and meaningful.

Thanks for all this, Marie. And I encourage you to mull over that "double reed" question . . .

You were 14 years ahead of me. I also sat first chair (in OH) but had impostor syndrome the whole time! That Youtube video cracked me up! Thank you.

i loved your explanation of the instrument and the fact that our playing of an instrument involves many parts of ourselves and is always better if it is played in communion with others, even just one other adds joy. Adding more simply brings GREAT JOY! Thank you, Phyllis. About the reed with the book. I'd love to receive a reed with my copy. Da Prweacha
