Many links (though many opposites, too). I loved to read and am still a voracious reader. I loved history, and now I write about history. Many of the things I enjoyed as a child I never had the confidence to participate in, so was merely a fascinated observer. As an adult, my confidence grew and now I participate, too :)
I loved the outdoors , and
Especially being by water.
I'm with ya!
Riding my bike, such a feeling of freedom as a child and it continues. Wind beneath my wings.
Fly, Berta!

Thank you for developing that confidence! It has allowed you to share so many wonderful gifts and skills . . .
📚 Books, definitely books. Loved reading as a kid & grew into a true bookaholic ….books in every room in our house 🙄
I'm having fun imagining your book-house!
Here's my poem about it:
Child Writer
Beyond the dark window
quake-wrinkled hills
recline under moonlight
A few stars wink
An owl hoots
Coyotes on the dunes
sing a scratchy song
From the living room
the Bonanza theme
taps at my ear
I sit cozy at my desk
with paper, pen,
and an idea.
I can see you, Child/Woman Writer! Thanks for sharing your poem!
