It’s time to give our Deep Dives a makeover!
Why?
To more directly inspire and harness the creativity of our Rafter community!
Here are the big changes!
We’ll now have three Deep Dives per year (instead of five), each with a general theme.
In each Dive, I’ll include previously published poetry and music suggested by Rafters.
I’ll also feature original works created and submitted by Rafters.
I’ll supplement Rafter materials, as needed, from my rich repository of resources.

Guidelines for suggesting work(s) by others
and/or for submitting work(s) of your own
All materials must be inclusive, respectful of difference, and in the spirit of The Raft.
All materials must clearly relate to the Dive theme.
All materials must be offered via the appropriate form by midnight on the deadline. (No email or snail mail submissions please.)
Please suggest or submit no more than three works total for a single Dive (e.g., 1 poem + 1 song + 1 photo = 3 works).
Any Rafter may suggest a previously published poem or a musical selection not of their own making.
Poems must:
be accessible to the general reader
be relatively short (i.e., no longer than a page)
include either a link to the poem or an error-free copy of the text (along with the poem’s source)
Musical selections must:
be high-quality audio/video
be less than six minutes long
be publicly accessible (i.e., not behind a paywall)
Submit your suggestion via this form by midnight on the deadline. You may make multiple suggestions per Dive per form. Please use a different form to suggest content for different Dives.
Raft patrons (paid subscribers) are welcome to submit their own original work in any creative medium—not just poetry or music.
Interpreting the theme as you’d like, either create something new or submit earlier work.
If submitting work that has been previously, you must own the rights and provide a credit line.
Submit your work as high-quality text, recording, or image. (“High-quality” means text without spelling or punctuation errors, recordings that aren’t low-volume or garbled, images that aren’t fuzzy, etc.)
If submitting poetry or music, please follow the guidelines listed under #5(a-b) above.
Submit your work via this form by midnight on the deadline.
What will happen to your suggestion/submission?
Please accept my gratitude for your participation! Due to time constraints, I won’t be able to personally acknowledge, edit, or offer feedback on your material.
I‘ll review your materials in light of the Deep Dive guidelines.
Assuming your material meets the guidelines, I’ll share it:
in one of the daily posts during the Dive, and/or . . .
in an informal “anthology” that I will compile and distribute to all participants after the Dive
How I choose to share your material will not be a judgment on its merits. Rather, it will reflect my efforts as the Dive curator to pair creative works that resonate in the daily posts. Remember, I’m not interested in how “good” your work is but in the fact that you’ve produced it from your true spot!
It's a great idea. Good luck!
I love that this will make it more of a group effort....great way to keep evolving!
