Seeing myself more clearly….my strengths & areas that need tuning. Growing awareness is a growth tool. Every new improved version of yourself is good not only for you, but for everyone in your energy field…to continue to grow into one’s best self.
In cleaning my basement for some hopeful furniture donations to Habitat for Humanity, I realized a deep need to divest myself of paper paraphernalia from my career as a librarian. I’ve done winnowing several times and at 71 I harbor no interest in a workplace (I do enjoy part-time work in a public library, a major change from a high school library from which I retired).
While lying in bed last night I thought that this divesting may bring a poem on. We’ll see.
The sense of clarity and closure will be cleansing. My identity does not depend on holding on to these physical reminders of my past professional life.
That I've always wanted to be a writer and I don't know how. I am nowhere near being recognized as a prolific writer. But that doesnt stop me from putting words on paper so I keep at it, keep enJOYing it, and I'm most grateful to anyone who is inspired by what I write.
Hello All! Loads of love and light for the New Year. Thank you for this question Phyllis. I have recently learned that I have the capacity to experience a mixture of emotions simultaneously; more “ands” in my daily life, rather than “buts” these days; less need to “fix” my emotional states.

Tuning like a string on an instrument! Takes constant attention and adjustment!

Thank you dearly for devoting your work life to so many young minds. Librarians RULE.
AMEN!
I like the word "divest." Reminds me of "invest." As we divest, we have more to invest! Best wishes for your process (and your poem-writing)!
I never really wondered
how my journey of aging what look
what it would and could offer me
and how I would respond to it
Now I do
Peaks and Valleys
Twists and Turns
Change and Challenges
And gratefully
My heart and soul willingly
ride along every mile of it
with me... geri
I'm smiling. Bless you in your journey.

that enJOYment is, to me, a profound signal that I'm making from my true spot! Yes! Keep at it!

Oh, the embrace in this! What a gift to yourself! I'm happy to hear it. And happy New Year to you, too!
