Events & News (published biweekly) is one of the newsletters of The Raft, the online community of author Phyllis Cole-Dai. We Rafters ride the river of life buoyed by music, poetry, and other arts along with open spiritual practice. Most everything here is free, but patrons (paid subscribers) get some special perks because Phyllis is extra grateful for their support. Sign up here:
Due to my mother’s death, this issue of Events & News is a bit late. Thank you for your patient understanding.—Phyllis

Poetry Pick-Me-Up (10/10/24) wasn’t held due to my mother’s illness.
Next week on The Raft . . .
Poetry Pick-Me-Up (Zoom, Thursday, 12-1PM Central). A casual weekly gathering for poetry-sharing, celebration, and discussion. Hop on the Zoom at this link. Bring a poem you like to read to the group. Or, just come to listen to poems offered by other Rafters and to participate as you’re comfortable in our informal but wholehearted conversation. Can’t make it? Watch for the video replay in this newsletter!

Fall feels like a time of year to renew and refresh after the busy summer. The beauty of this time of year is incredible. Each year we do a fall drive to witness the spendor of the beautiful trees and the beauty that surrounds us. Fully enjoy this time of year!!
For us in the Sierra Nevada foothills, the cooling temperatures means that we're not staying inside during really hot afternoons. It also means that the rains will soon begin putting an end to wildfire season, which is always most welcome as we relax away from being on alert. For that reason, it certainly is a fresh turning!
