Oh, Nolcha, I celebrate this discovery with you! And I wonder how many of us could fill in the blank: "I don't need therapy. I just need a _____ life." ("Quiet" would probably work for many of us!)
We can change our minds, deeply, if we learn to step away from fixed notions and reactive emotions. We can become calmer and more compassionate even as things fall apart.
Let "it" (whatever the old dysfunction is) stop with us. It will come 'round again—the nature of things—but let it be not because we have consciously enabled it.

Thank you. “New digs” will be in 2025, but we’re preparing!
Over & over & over again, life teaches me lessons….some new, some repeated….lately PATIENCE is being driven home to me, yet again :))
We are all works in progress ❤️
Just when we think we've "figured it out," we're reminded there's no "it" to get to. There's only the way ahead . . .

Absolutely.
Yes. "Even as things fall apart." In my aging, I'm learning to find even JOY amidst the falling apart . . .
When in despair, practice self-care like it's your mother flipping job.
Made me smile 😊
Cutting old dysfunctional family cords is healthy and a gift to the generations to come. Our gift to pass along.
Yes.

Control my controllables!
Ha! Yes! (Or at least "manage" them!)
You can do everything right and still not have success.
"Doing everything right" is no guarantee of ANYTHING, in my experience. Not even self-satisfaction! 🤪
