Returning to my Light Center ( inner light) does it for me.

Frequent, daily returns 😉

I begin my day in my sanctuary, my bed, with a pen and a journal. There is where I go within and then move on with the rest of my day.

That must make your bed an extra sweet place to return to, come nightfall!

When I sit to do my hand work I enter my sanctuary.

It is as if a door opens with a welcome sign. It is here in the sanctuary I can fully embrace myself, my.life, just as it is.

What kind(s) of handwork do you do?

I knit, crochet, sew my own clothes, do cross stitch without patterns, cook, create beautiful spaces in my home, cultivate many outdoor perennial gardens around our home!

Wowza! What a soul sanctuary your hands provide!

I also crochet and cross stitch. I also quilt. I miss my gardens because we rent and there is no space.

You and Lorraine have much in common. I wonder—can you "indoor garden" or "balcony garden" or some such in your rental?

Centering prayer and meditation also slow quiet music. If I can be on my porch it’s extra special.

Care to tell me about your porch?

It’s an open porch with low brick walls and a metal roof. There is only room for 1 chair. I have a reclining lawn chair. We live on the corner so I can see both streets. It’s my favorite place to write.

I have a picture of you on your porch now. 😊 What do you like to write?

Mostly free form poetry and some haiku. I’ve never been much of a journal writer but I’m trying out an app called Journal that sends reminders to journal. What I like is that it tracks where I am and also notes when I take photos on my phone. It uses that info to give me prompts to write on. I call myself an inspirational poet - I write when something inspires me - rather than an intentional poet that writes on a regular basis.

You may be an "inspirational poet" but you exercise a lot of intentionality, it seems . . . 😊😊
