LEARNING TO BE BRAVE
Chrissy Metz
You can do anything
Just wait and see
Nothing's impossible
You just gotta believe
Some day you'll look up at the mountain
And you'll feel so small
But just tell yourself that you can climb it
And you'll feel so tall
'Cause you're learning to be brave
You're learning to be brave
Sometimes the dark's a little scary
In the middle of the night
But think of fireflies
And you're dancing in a warmer, safer light
'Cause you're learning to be brave
You're learning to be brave
If you believe
That you can
Then you can
If you believe
If you believe
That you can
Then you can
If you believe
You can do anything
You just gotta believe
Learning to be brave
Just wait and see
'Cause you're learning to be brave . . .

THURSDAY: Poetry Pick-Me-Up (Zoom, 12:00-1:00PM Central, at this link)
I lived believing so many things most of which I didn't understand. No one ever said, I don't know or its unknowable! Belief, right belief, was the ticket that got you in. It was conditional based on authority (patriarchy).
Now I know, at last, it is more about trust and embracing mystery, truth, goodness. It is an evolving process. I am relieved to no longer value right beliefs. It is so dangerously exclusive and divisive.
I gave my self to the life of the church wholeheartedly.
it became a painful and wounding experience and it pushed me to question and risk trusting my own inner voice or true spot over a long period of time.
I don't ever want to go along and be silent to conform. If you seek and search long enough you can see that there is so much fear revealed when people say, I believe. Many have never critically questioned what the words say. Yes, moving beyond what i once valued is challenging but it is worth while to be more attuned to my true spot now.
If you believe...yes? No?
Just take the next step, breathing deeply.
