This seems especially appropriate on Mother’s Day weekend, here in the US.
To my son, Nathan: my heart swells because you know that war is not a man’s game either.
To all who “mother” this world: Let’s rise and make the peace.
WAR IS NOT A WOMAN'S GAME Yael Deckelbaum & Amyra Leon Refrain: Whoah . . . Whoah mama Whoah papa War is not a woman's game We’ve been praying for redemption Since the dawn of humankind For the safety and protection Of a woman and her child When the old way keeps on failing A new sun has to rise Look ahead as times are changing War is not a woman's game Refrain It’s the love of a mother versus the spear of a gun It’s the strength of giving shelter to your enemy’s lost son By caring for the other You can protect your child For the sake of all our sons and our daughters War is not a woman’s game Refrain It's not easy to believe it But if we let ourselves conceive it We could find Salvation, Revelation Recreation, Inspiration Flotation, Illumination Elevation, New Sensations Liberation, Consolation Celebration, Good Vibrations Emanation, Reformation Golden age is comin’ now Two by two they come for you Spine becoming soil Manifesting the age of redemption The tides recoil An eye to the horizon and its fire The soliliquy of time lingers on our tongue A small prayer Sacred desire It is us, It is us! The womb no longer a tomb for our daughters, our sons, the golden ones Our palms up to the sky inviting the rain To remove the blood stains Still in awe of the hidden sun and her memory Refrain We the women of the world are tired of being tired It is our time We are rising
(My thanks to the songwriters and all the performers as listed in the video credits, via Yael Deckelbaum.)

OMG! Moving, inspiring, so true. I've always maintained that if women led the nations of this world, we as a people, and the earth as our home, will be protected. There will be a "we." Jacinda Ardern comes to mind. When the Christchurch bombing happened, Ardern cloaked herself in a black hijab, went to the Muslim communities, hugged them, proclaimed they were "us" and protected them.
