WHEN YOU BELIEVE
Kenneth Babyface Edmonds & Stephen Lawrence Schwartz
Many nights we prayed
With no proof anyone could hear
In our hearts a hopeful song
We barely understood
Now we are not afraid
Although we know there's much to fear
We were moving mountains
Long before we knew we could
There can be miracles
When you believe
Though hope is frail, it's hard to kill
Who knows what miracles you can achieve
When you believe somehow you will
You will when you believe
In this time of fear
When prayer so often proves in vain
Hope seems like the summer bird
Too swiftly flown away
Yet now I'm standing here
My heart's so full, I can't explain
Seeking faith and speaking words
I never thought I'd say
There can be miracles
When you believe
Though hope is frail, it's hard to kill
Who knows what miracles you can achieve
When you believe somehow you will
You will when you believe
They don't always happen when you ask
And it's easy to give in to your fears
But when you're blinded by your pain
Can't see the way, get through the rain
A small but still resilient voice
Says help is very near . . .
(My thanks to the songwriters, vocalists Cynthia Erivo and Shoshana Bean, and pianist Stephen Schwartz.)

Your creative offerings are opening many doors for me. It is like one of those olden days advent calendars w the good deed for the day written inside as a present for baby Jesus! Only the doors you open are grounded in truth and beauty that heal wounds and lighten burdens. I know grace is alive because one good blessing leads to another ad I try to create meaning from the shards from broken promises.
I trust your way is celebrated by many and now I am becoming a member of the raft community. Thank you.
Christmas is here and now, an eternal gift of love.
Beautiful and so pertinent! We, well, I, need to believe in miracles! I'm working on it and this song is a great reminder and inspiration! ♥️
