Watch Lumhe “Micco” Sampson (Seneca and Muscogee Creek) dance the Thunderbird hoop dance formation. Micco and his brother Samsoche, performing as The Sampson Brothers, are well known for their impressive synchronized hoop dance routines, often performed to the beat of Native hip hop.
Micco says that this dance honors the “the power and presence of Thunderbeings, as they bring balance to our world with the very element that nurtures life (water), as well as wielding the potential to raze the Earth down to ashes with the power of lightning (fire).”
May balance come to our hurting planet.
