Consider these words from the late peacemaker Daniel Berrigan:
“One cannot level one’s moral lance at every evil in the universe. There are just too many of them. But you can do something; and the difference between doing something and doing nothing is everything.”
What’s one thing you’ve done lately, or can do today, to make a difference?
(My thanks to the late Daniel Berrigan.)

I have always loved the starfish analogy. A little boy is walking on the beach with his grandfather and comes across many starfish that have been stranded by the outgoing tide. He starts running around and putting the starfish back into the water. His grandfather says, "What are you doing? There are too many - you can't make a difference." To which the little boy answers, "I made a difference to that one, and this one..." Every bit we do can make a big difference in someone's life!
