Can't have too many candles in the dark!

Let’s light more candles! This is one of my favorite songs of the holiday season, when so many of us with different backgrounds and traditions are celebrating for different reasons. I best love this piece as sung years ago by Peter, Paul & Mary. Here’s an especially powerful passage from the lyrics:

Light one candle for the strength that we need
To never become our own foe
And light one candle for those who are suffering
Pain we learned so long ago
Light one candle for all we believe in
That anger not tear us apart
And light one candle to find us together
With peace as the song in our hearts
