I have to thank Rafter Suzi S. for introducing me to “grooks.” A grook is a short aphoristic poem invented (or at least named) by the Danish polymath Piet Hein. I often find them both true and humorous.
Today you’re getting two grooks for the price of one—above (illustrated by Hein) and below.
THE ROAD TO WISDOM
Piet Hein
The road to wisdom?—Well, it’s
plain and simple to express:
Err
and err
and err again,
but less
and less
and less.
(My thanks to Piet Hein, via Brief Poems and De Clarke.)

Phyllis, thanks for the link to Piet Hein so I could learn more about him and read more grooks. Here's one I really like for the meaning and fun wordplay/slant rhyme.
WHAT LOVE IS LIKE
Love is like
a pineapple,
sweet and
undefinable.
I've seen and loved grooks long ago, but forget about them. Thanks, Phyllis and Suzi S for reminding me of grooks and sharing these two gems!
