Start the year by treating yourself to a quest!
During this 30-day quest (January 28-February 26), you’ll write your own cento using fragments of text from my latest book, Staying Power 2: Writings from a Year of Emergence.
Remember, a cento is a literary work, usually a poem, created exclusively from lines or phrases lifted from the work(s) of another author (or authors). You assemble the excerpts in whatever order you wish, thereby bringing to life a rich, new text.
This quest will guide you through the cento writing, step by step, by providing
a weekly challenge, with clear instructions
a weekly look-back, to reflect on your progress and anchor you in the process
a community of questers, to share the journey
a culminating “cento celebration” (Zoom, February 27)
This quest is available to all Rafters who are paying subscribers. (Scholarships are available.)
Here’s how to join the quest
Make sure you’re a paying subscriber on the Raft by January 28. If you’re not yet a paying subscriber, use this button to see your subscription options. If payment is a hardship at this time, contact me for a gift subscription.
Update your subscription preferences to include “30-Day Quests,” using this button.
Order your copy of Staying Power 2: Writings from a Year of Emergence from my store (or elsewhere). Do this as soon as possible to allow for shipping.
Don’t want to join the quest but still want to participate?
You certainly may! Attend our happy “Cento Celebration” at 6:00PM Central on February 27! Bring your own cento to share (must be based on Staying Power 2). Or come to listen. Register for this free Zoom event using the button.
