The Saturday Spark
Miss an event on The Raft this week? Catch the replay!
What’s coming on The Raft next week?
Poetry Pick-Me-Up (Zoom, Thursday, 12-1PM Central). A casual weekly gathering for poetry-sharing and discussion. Hop on the Zoom at this link.
Bring a published poem that has recently struck you to read to the group. Or, just come to listen to poems offered by other Rafters and to participate in informal but wholehearted conversation.
What’s up in my studio?
My editor and I will start working next week on my novel, The Singing Stick, slated for publication next fall. I’m excited!
My serial audio reading of Staying Power 2: Writings from a Year of Emergence starts next Friday for all paid subscribers. Not yet a paid subscriber? Please consider “paying it forward,” using the button below. By contributing, you’ll get a few modest perks, plus the joy of helping to keep most content on The Raft free for everybody!
Are you a past donor to my work? If you’ve made a financial contribution to my work within the past year, I’m offering you a one-year gift subscription to The Raft. To receive it, please email me soon at phyllis@phylliscoledai.com and I’ll set it up. When your gift subscription ends, you can decide whether to remain as a supporting Rafter or to opt for a free membership.
Are you rafting on the mobile app yet? I’ll soon be starting some “Raft chats” that (for now) can only happen on the app. You’ll be able to upload poems, photographs, and other fun stuff to the chat threads. Give it a try!
Remember, as a Rafter you always get 15% off everything in my store. Just enter the code PCDFRIEND at checkout.
My heartfelt thanks to these folks for their recent gifts in support of The Raft and my other work: Amy Adams, Katharina Bossmann, Jeanne Fracchia, Deb Parvin, Julie Roehm, and three unnamed Rafters I’ll gratefully acknowledge by fragments of their email addresses—jmbowman, sandy.r, and sierra.
Whew! That's all for now. Stay well. Stay witty. Stay tuned into your true spot and create from your radiant, beautiful self.
“Stepping out of the busyness, stopping our endless pursuit of getting somewhere else, is perhaps the most beautiful offering we can make to our spirit.” ~ Tara Brach
I pay attention to the energy I bring, to myself as well as to others…to do no harm…to try to be my best self. Returning to my Light, often…rebooting & rebalancing. Finding the small joys & injecting levity to lift others & myself up 🥰
